The "La camisa negra" singer from Paisa, along with his friend and fellow vocalist Fonseca, launched this brand characterized by recyclable and waterproof materials.
In the midst of one of the worst crises for the country's economy and the textile industry, two renowned Colombian singers decided to introduce a new clothing brand with a clear rebellious and youthful accent.
This brand is AGYBO, derived from the words love, gratitude, and good vibes, concepts aimed at creating a social and environmental impact. From its inception, it was conceived as a genderless brand, meaning fashion without labels that adapts to all tastes and genders.
In 2021, the brand will launch a line called "Explora tu Casa," featuring various streetwear and outerwear garments made from very comfortable textiles ranging from 100% cotton knits to polyester fabrics and functional waterproof materials suitable for any time of the day.
According to the artists, this collection is fully focused on communicating the brand's message: love, gratitude, and good vibes, inviting consumers to be more contemplative, connect with the wisdom of nature, and feel an interest in exploring planet Earth.
The starting point for building this collection is reconnection with the planet, seeking the balance of open spaces and nature. All the prints in this new AGYBO collection are filled with positive messages with illustrations of plants and stars, reinforcing the premise that we are part of everything.
"We are very excited about this new launch because it is not just another collection; we are betting on different graphic interventions using various techniques such as embroidery and polychromy in screen printing, expanding the concept of exploring our home and reinforcing the idea of the planet as everyone's home," explained Martín Fonseca, AGYBO's marketing manager and Fonseca's brother.
In an interview with DINERO, Martín Fonseca explained that the idea emerged last year during the pandemic when these two artists completely halted their public activities.
"The brand wants to convey that good vibe of Colombians, but it also embraces the values of quality and good materials," said this business administrator. The garments are designed to last about three years under normal conditions.
Although the singer Fonseca does not have technical or specialized knowledge in clothing or textiles, he occasionally contributes some input to the design team, which is led by a friend of Juanes.
A noteworthy fact is that the manufacturing workshops are located in Medellín and belong to local entrepreneurs.
Additionally, during the second half of the year, the brand will continue to reach more customers, as they will be present from July 14 to 18 at the Feria Buro, specialized in design, which will return to being held in person at the Gimnasio Moderno in Bogotá. There, the most iconic pieces of the new collection launched by these Colombian artists can be purchased firsthand and exclusively.
It is also important to highlight that this month the brand has a significant alliance with O2 Reserve. Since its inception, AGYBO has been interested in being sustainable and contributing to the environment, which is why it decided to join this Colombian organization that performs great conservation work in the Magdalena Medio.
AGYBO announced that for each transaction made, it will contribute 1 m² to the conservation of the environment in this region of the country.
