FORBES

Love, Gratitude, and Good Vibes were three words that held significant relevance for singer-songwriter Juan Fernando Fonseca, known as Fonseca, during the pandemic. Combining the initials, Agybo ended up becoming a clothing brand that he founded along with Juanes and Karen Martínez.
The garments, ranging from t-shirts and hoodies to crewnecks and sweatpants, feature figures and messages that allude to these three words. The acceptance has been such that Martín Fonseca, Juan Fernando's brother and Agybo's manager, told Forbes that when personalities like Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Feid, Evaluna, and Sebastián Yatra have worn them, it wasn't because the famous partners sent them, but through a separate contact made by the brand's team.
"It has been organic," says Martín. "We look for which of our garments can fit with their personalities. We sent Feid one of our shorts, and he wore it at one of his concerts."
He also mentions that although they have attended fairs and in December set up a temporary pop-up in Bogotá, which included activities like tattoos and live printing, which he describes as "a complete success," 90% of their sales come from their online store, driven by their social media work. Thus, in 2022, they dispatched over 5,500 garments, achieving sales of 800 million pesos (Colombian currency).
In 2023, they hope to reach more cities in Colombia, possibly bringing the pop-up experience. Although operations are based in Bogotá, Agybo's creative team is in Medellín. The best-selling item has been the crewneck with the heart in the middle, which sold out five times last year. They have decided to work with different designers for each collection to maintain a fresh and varied tone in their offerings.
