Agybo is supporting the Trans Community Network as part of Pride Month for the LGBTQ+ community.
June is recognized globally as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, culminating in the International Day of Pride on June 28. However, despite ongoing efforts, one segment of this community—the transgender and transsexual individuals, represented by the letter T—often lacks the representation it deserves.
These individuals face alarmingly high rates of violence and murder. A stark example is Alejandra Monocuco, a trans woman who died on May 29 last year. She was a sex worker and a victim of armed conflict, and her death highlighted the severe discrimination faced by trans people, prostitution, and HIV. Her death went unaddressed professionally, underscoring the prejudices against trans individuals.
Amidst these challenges, there are proposals and ideas that bring hope, such as Agybo. Founded in 2020 with a positive message for Colombians, each piece from Agybo carries sentimental value.
Based in Medellín, Agybo is known for using high-quality materials, resulting in comfortable, soft, and durable garments. The brand’s name, Agybo, stands for Amor (Love), Gratitud (Gratitude), and Buena Onda (Good Vibes).
In December of last year, they launched their first collection, "Somos," and now plan to present their second collection in July, focusing on mental health and environmental care.
In honor of Pride Month, Agybo has released a t-shirt to support the Trans Community Network. The brand aims to promote equality, tolerance, and empathy, celebrating love in all its "forms and colors."
